This
17,400m2 hospital achieved a 50% saving in fuel energy by its
third year of operation. The
radial plan minimizes main services and heat recovery routes to the centralized
plant.
The
design includes:
-
Enhancing
and controlling naturally produced heat
-
Lighting
and ventilation by introducing heat recovery systems from air and water
-
Using
techniques of energy management to ensure maximum benefit through
correct functions of these systems.
In
addition a strategy for the ease, cost and safety of maintenance is
considered at an early stage.
